Simon Grove
Simon joined IPS Law on qualification in September 2009, having trained at Brabners Chaffe Street in Manchester. Previously, Simon worked in-house for A1 Grand Prix.
Simon has acted for professional sports clubs and players, sports agents, sports governing bodies and sporting brands.
Simon's notable recent experience includes:
- advising a number of FA Premier League football clubs on player transfers, playing contracts and image rights agreements;
- advising Scottish Premier League and FA Premier League clubs in a range of disputes;
- assisting FA Premier League and Football League clubs in securing work permits for players;
- acting for Premiership rugby clubs in relation to sponsorship deals;
- advising FA Premier League football clubs on the terms and conditions in relation to their season tickets;
- advising sports agents with regard to their representation contracts with players and clubs, and various disputes;
- providing assistance and advice in respect of sporting organisations' trademark portfolios; and
- acting for FA Premier League football clubs in a number of high profile cases at FIFA.
Simon has written articles on sports law for publication, most recently on the vicarious liability of a rugby club for injuries inflicted on an opponent by one of its players in an off-the-ball incident.
